WHAT IS CLARETIAN FAMILY WORLD YOUTH MEETING

We are inviting you to Claretian family World Youth Day organized by Polish Claretian Family as part of World Youth Day convoked by pope Francis.

It’s a meeting of communities and environments functioning by Claretian parishes throughout the World. We are meeting a week before official inauguration of WYD to celebrate this time together. We will be visiting the most beautiful parts of Poland, pray and play together. We will experience our holy day unitedly.

„World Youth Day is a huge meeting of young people from the whole World around Christ’s Vicar. It’s one of evangelization means of the Church, which during this time gives Christ’s address for young people.” (Pope John Paul II)

PARTICIPATION IN WORLD YOUTH DAYS

Travelling

Introductory meeting (FC):
starts on July 20, 2016 in Lodz (Claretian Missionary Parish, ul. Klaretyńska 11). We'll start with dinner at 20.00.

RECEPTION
in Lodz will operate on July 20 between 15.00 and 19.00.

COMMUTE TO CRACOW
will start in the morning on July 25.

CELEBRATIONS IN CRACOW
will take place between July 25 and July 31, 2016.

Familia Claretiana hosts will responsible for the agenda between July 20 and July 25, 2016. They will not be responsible for celebrations in Cracow or any events not listed below. The celebrations will end on July 31, we are not hosting any meeting after this day. During celebrations in Cracow all of us will be divided into groups on the basis of languages spoken by the hosts from Cracow. As Claretians we have no influence on this procedure and are entirely subject to the main WYD organisers.
Participation

guidelines for young participants
WYD+FC is a meeting for Christian youth, therefore:
- to live together properly we all need to follow the rules set by the event organisers and those responsible for the event logistics.
- we will try to live in a modest manner in order to exclude all unnecessary expenses.
- we want to live healthily, so no alcohol or drug use will be permitted.
- we will respect the division between male and female space during the event.

Youth between the age of 16-17 will need an at least 22-year-old animator - one for every ten underage participants. The animator will accompany his group throughout the WYD+FC event. They can't be the same person as the main group leader.

guidelines for local group leaders
It is necessary for all youth groups to come with at least one adult guardian. They will be responsible for:
- organising TRANSPORT for their group TO Lodz and FROM Cracow.
- taking care of the APPLICATIONS and PAYMENTS for their youth.
- INFORMING their group about all practical information and insurance during WYD+FC.
- conducting preliminary FORMATION of their group according to the documents supplied.
- co-operating with the WYD+FC organisers during the event.

You will need to apply for the WYD+FC twice:

(July 20-25): 50 Euro

- WYD celebrations in Cracow
(July 25-31): we recommed "A1 package" (25/07/ till 01/08/2016) - 180 Euro,
or A1+ (25/07 till 02/08/2016) - 200 Euro

Sunday, July 24, 2016
Until 14.00 the day is organised by host families. Lunch with the host families, commute to ‘Atlas Arena’ (local stadium)
15.00 - Dismissal Mass with all pilgrims from the diocese concelebrated by the Archbishop of Łódź
17.00 - concerts, picnics, dancing, firework display etc. (for all WYD participants and host families from the diocese)
21.00 - return to the host families

09.00 - mmorning prayer (CMF) farewell and departure for Cracow
